Web 1.0 was the first iteration of the Internet, offering Web sites based on the broadcast model – a one-site-fits-all approach. Web 2.0 brought the concept of interactivity and applications to the Web. Some see Web 3.0 as the personal Web; sites, applications, widgets, and personalization that make each user’s experience his or her own.

Business 2.0 recently defined Web 3.0 as the "semantic web" and called it " a technology with the power to unseat the giants of today's internet , especially Yahoo and Google". With no standard definition for Web 3.0, camps are being formed on both sides – some say Web 2.0 has failed to deliver what it promised to do and Web 3.0 will take its own time– while some others are overly enthusiastic about what Web 2.0 has done and of its promises of things to come.

Join an esteemed panel of internet experts as they share their insights into the future of Web 2.0 and the shape of things to come under the guise of Web 3.0.

They will discuss and debate topics including:

  • How is Web 3.0 defined?  Is Web 3.0 even a real valid entity?
  • What applications are likely to emerge that will tap the potential of community based sites beyond blogging and social networks?
  • What security mechanisms will need to be established to facilitate commerce and making sure the identity is safe and predators are kept out?
  • How will Web 3.0 change the way internet-era products are developed and delivered to the customers?
  • How will Web 3.0 change refine or define the existing community oriented sites?
